Brief Martin Company History

The Martin Guitar Company started in 1833 in New York. Martin Mandolins were popular during the 1890s and continued to be manufactured through 2002. Known for numerous innovations such as the dreadnought design as well as x-bracing, they are a leading acoustic guitar manufacturer today. Martin is a widely respected brand by hobbyists, amateurs and pros alike.
